Ligand-X

Documentation · Getting started

Requirements

Hardware, Docker, GPU, disk, and network prerequisites for running Ligand-X on Windows, macOS, or Linux before you install.

Hardware and software

Ligand-X needs Docker Compose v2, about 16 GB RAM minimum, and at least 50 GB free disk for a Core + Docking install. Ubuntu 22.04+, Windows with WSL 2, or macOS are supported.

GPU prerequisites

A GPU is optional for free docking and structure workflows. Boltz-2 and binding free-energy modules require an NVIDIA GPU with the NVIDIA Container Toolkit; macOS cannot run those modules.

Disk and network

Plan image download sizes from about 6 GB for Core alone to tens of gigabytes when MD and Pro modules are selected. First install needs HTTPS access to GitHub Releases and GHCR.

Ports

The production stack publishes five host ports by default: 8080 for the app entry, plus 3000, 8000, 5555, and 15672. Database and broker traffic remains internal to Compose.
